VOICEOVER
I was a month early — five pounds, in an incubator. So I'm pretty sure I didn't know much.
My parents were Jay and Lillian. And the family roots that shaped me.
Growing up in Los Angeles — home, neighborhood, early memories and adventures.
Weekends with family. Coco who helped at home, my sister Zorine and the dog. Water skiing, snow valley, tennis, camping. School days.
Joe Brutto took me under his wing at fourteen. I had a car he helped me fix up. And I love the guy.
Carpet cleaning, parking cars. There's an easy way and a hard way — I learned that from my father.
1988 — my son Max was born with special needs. We did everything to make him feel normal. In 1993, Nicolas was a role model for Max and other children with special needs.
That same year I started Studio RTA — a manufacturer and importer of contemporary office furniture, sold nationally and internationally.
With the explosive growth of office superstores, I sold Studio RTA to Sauder Woodworking in 2003. It was a life changer.
In 2001 I remarried the love of my life, Barbara. I gained — and adopted — Ashley and Polly. Blending a family wasn't easy, but I would never change anything.
Travel, boats, and golf. Freedom, experiences and gratitude. I felt very fortunate.
Now, what I want to build isn't another company. It's a record — a memory my family can return to, and keep growing.
A Life Well Lived. A Story Still Growing.

Paul Zane Reitzin

Subject profile — the “understanding layer” the platform builds before it tells the story.
Who he is · how he says things · what we're looking for · what we pulled from the material.

Identity

Full namePaul Zane Reitzin
BornApril 4, 1957 · Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles
ParentsJay (Jason) & Lillian Reitzin
SiblingsMarty, Zorine, Belinda, Michelle
SpouseBarbara Basha (married 2001)
ChildrenMax & Nicolas · Ashley & Polly (adopted, age 10 & 12)
CareerFounder, Studio RTA (1988 → sold to Sauder Woodworking, 2003); Avenue Six
TodayRetired — golf, travel, family; curious about AI and what comes next

How he says things (voice & delivery)

  • Short, declarative sentences. No flourishes.
  • States the facts first; the emotion arrives contained, never milked.
  • Self-deprecating humor as a default register.
  • Business / action vocabulary (“explosive growth”, “grow exponentially”).
  • Warm landings — the tender beat lands at the END of the line.
  • Never victimizes himself when talking about hardship.
Core values: Hard work & meritFamily & loyaltyGratitudeInclusion & careMovement & adventure

Personality

Self-made entrepreneur

Working since 14. Built and sold companies. Action over theory.

Relentless work ethic

“Easy way / hard way” — inherited from his father. Real pride in hard work.

Family at the center

Recurring anchor: “a very connected family”, caring for Max, a blended family he'd “never change.”

Dry, self-deprecating humor

Laughs at himself before anyone else can.

Resilient & pragmatic

Faces hard things — Max's needs, divorce, blending a family — without self-pity.

Grateful & reflective

In maturity: “I felt very fortunate.”

Warm under the dryness

Adopted two kids; “and I love the guy.” Deep loyalty to those who helped him.

Forward-looking

Curious about AI and “what comes next.”

Signature lines (real quotes — the soul of the narration)

“I'm pretty sure I didn't know shit.”
born premature — opens with humor
“A bit of a troublemaker.”
his childhood — affectionate self-portrait
“There's an easy way and a hard way. I learned that from my father.”
his core life lesson
“I had a car he helped me fix up… and I love the guy.”
mentor Joe Brutto — loyalty
“We did everything to make Max feel normal.”
his son — care & inclusion
“I would never change anything.”
blended family — acceptance
“It was a life changer… I felt very fortunate.”
selling the company — gratitude

What we're looking for (emotional direction)

  • Celebrate a life well lived — warmth, light, gratitude. Not grief.
  • Preserve HIS voice, humor and personality — not a polished, flat biography.
  • Pride and inclusion around Max — care, not loss.
  • A story that keeps growing (the ReelLife product).

What we pulled from everything sent

Photos

29 real images: family, company, milestones, travel.

Historical context

Corrections from the family

Key finding: every photo is small (max 640×480, most 320×240). All 36 need upscaling to reach 1080p video. Old family photos upscale well with AI restorers (they add plausible grain/detail), but this is the #1 quality task before animating anything.
